How to get verified on Instagram?

Today, social media users are obsessed with getting verified. But if you are not a celebrity or a public figure you can still apply for verification on Instagram. Below is what has been published on their website.

Note: if you are not a business and your Instagram account is a business profile, I recommend switching it back to a personal account as the documents required for a business is official registration licenses which I assume you do not have.

How do you request a verified badge for your profile?

To request a verified badge, you must be a public figure, celebrity or brand and meet certain account and eligibility requirements.

To request a verified badge:

  1. Make sure you’re logged in to the account you’re requesting a verified badge for.
  2. Go to your profile and tap .
  3. TapSettings > Request Verification.
  4. Enter your full name and provide the required form of identification (example: government issued photo ID).

Keep in mind that even if your account is eligible for verification, submitting a request doesn’t guarantee that your account will be verified.

Instagram will get back to you within a 1 week or a bit more.

What are the requirements to apply for a verified badge?

We look at a number of factors when evaluating Instagram accounts to determine if they’re in the public interest and meet our verification criteria.

In addition to following Instagram’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, your account also needs to be:

  • Authentic: Your account must represent a real person, registered business or entity.
  • Unique: Your account must be the unique presence of the person or business it represents. Only one account per person or business may be verified, with exceptions for language-specific accounts. We don’t verify general interest accounts (example: @puppymemes).
  • Complete: Your account must be public and have a bio, profile photo and at least one post. Your profile can’t contain “add me” links to other social media services.
  • Notable: Your account must represent a well-known, highly searched for person, brand or entity. We review accounts that are featured in multiple news sources, and we don’t consider paid or promotional content as sources for review.

Keep in mind that if you provide false or misleading information during the verification process, Instagram will remove your verified badge and may take additional action to delete your account.

Check out this analytical tool

One of the latest tools that I have been using lately is Iconsquare. It offers full analysis of Instagram accounts. Iconsquare analyzes your community, learn how reachable your community is. The fewer accounts your followers follow, the more reachable they are. The higher your reachability score, the more easily you are able to reach your followers. This score is out of 100. Followers having a private account are not taken into account.

Understand the content you should post and what brings more engagement. When you should post to receive the most engagement and know when your followers are online.

Discover when your posts trigger the most engagement. The bigger the circle, the better the engagement is. The starred circles are your best times to post. The black circles represent your posting habits: the bigger the black circles are, the more you post. You can then easily compare your best time to post with your actual posting hours. This data is updated approximately every hour.

See when your followers are online.

Monitor and analyse your competitor or even a hashtag.

Other features include, creating reports within seconds, analyzing Instagram stories, tracking comments and scheduling posts.

The tool has the same features for Facebook pages.

Iconsquare is perhaps one of the best tools out there. Give it a try today, there is a 14 days free trial.

Tools to help you detect fake Instagram followers

With the rise of Bots and Telegram groups to buy likes and comments on Instagram, there are tools out there to help you to detect if an Instagram account has fake followers.

But how can you detect if an account is using bots?

  1. Take a look at the account’s comments on other people’s posts. If the comments are repeated, its a sign there’s a bot behind the profile.
  2. Check if the account has too many followers and poor content.
  3. If the account unfollows you after you follow them, this is a sign there is a bot, though this technique is used by many who do not use bots.
  4. If they follow thousands of accounts and only have a few followers, they probably use a bot.

Some of the tools out there are:

Loosing Facebook Fans!

On March 5th, Facebook announced it will start removing memorialized and voluntary deactivated accounts from Business Pages. But what does this mean for Facebook Pages owners?

A few years back, when gaining Fans was more organic than paid and based on edgerank; some Facebook Pages bought fans through illegal means to quickly gain Likes. This was done by phishing users and creating fake accounts. In Jordan alone, there were 200,000 Fake accounts in 2014, today we have a total of 3,800,000 users that we expect to drop this month. Another mean of gaining likes was by developing and setting up a “Landed Page”. Fans were not able to view the Page unless they like it first, this feature was disabled.
